Payment & cancellation conditions

Booking / Reservation

You can book by phone, fax or e-mail. In all cases you will receive a written booking contract which must be returned to us by letter or e-mail with your signature for approval.

Up to the value of € 2,000 for a holiday at the Smiley Hotel, we charge a deposit of € 400. For amounts of over € 2,500 we charge a deposit of € 600. For Smiley’s lake house and riverside chalet, we charge a deposit of € 600. for weekly bookings.

Please transfer this amount within 14 days using the following bank details:

Please make sure you indicate the same surname used when booking with us.
Payment options on site: in cash, by bank transfer, debit card or credit cards are accepted, in which case we charge a 1% expense compensation fee.

Cancellation conditions

Please send us a registered letter if you wish to cancel your holiday. In the event of cancellation up to no more than 3 months before the start of the holiday, the deposit will be refunded minus a processing fee € 70.

For cancellations made between 3 months and 2 months before the start of your holiday, we charge 50% of the holiday price.
For cancellations made between 2 months and 1 month before the start of your holiday, we charge 70% of the holiday price.
For cancellations made between 1 month and 1 week before the start of your holiday, we charge 90% of the holiday price.

For cancellations in the last week before the start of the holiday we charge 100 % of the holiday price, this also applies in the event of late arrivals or early departures.

COVID 19
If you have to cancel or are not allowed to enter the region due to COVID 19, you can cancel your holiday free of charge.
Your deposit will be converted into a voucher which will remain 100% valid for 3 years.
If you wish to have the deposit returned, we will charge a processing fee of 70 €.
However, we still recommend taking out travel cancellation insurance.

European Travel Insurance
The insurance covers all cancellation costs, for example in the event of unexpected illness with hospitalisation, accident, etc.
