Skiing at Smiley’s Kinderhotel
Get ready to hit some of the hottest slopes in Carinthia! Your Smiley’s hotel is the perfect starting point for fun in the snow on the sunny side of the Alps.
The small but exquisite ski area is a well-kept secret amongst skiers. Skiers descend 1,200 metres in altitude on the 8.6 kilometre black run, the longest in the Alps. You can look forward to a halfpipe, a fun park, 30 kilometres of groomed pistes, one chair lift and seven drag lifts and a new speed ski course (approx. 12-15 minutes). A Post ski bus runs to Goldeck valley station.
Katschberg is the essence of winter fun, with 70 km of well-maintained pistes which are up to 100% snow covered. Sixteen lifts take skiers to over 2,200 metres above sea level, surrounded by the astonishing Tauern range. Go-getters, however, can take the “Direttissima” from Aineck mountain station (60-100% gradient). In just a 20-25 minute drive you are in the heart of the ski area. You can snap on your skis and head off onto the slopes. We offer a free ski bus transfer for parents and children from our hotel.
There are 45 kilometres of pistes here: one double chair lift, one 4-seater chair lift, four drag lifts and two practice lifts to get you up the mountain. A 20-25 minute drive takes you straight to the ski area.
Mölltal Glacier ski area
After a 45-minute drive take the railway to 2,700 metres above sea level. You can ski here almost all year round, except in June. Don’t forget your skis if you’re holidaying in autumn!
